Once Human PC requirements: installation, storage, and scenario checks

Steam currently lists 100 GB of storage and an SSD recommendation, while an official FAQ still says 55 GB. This guide records the conflict and uses the live Steam requirement for planning a Steam install.

The current Steam specification

Steam currently lists Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i5-4460 or Snapdragon X, 8 GB RAM, a GTX 750 Ti 4 GB, Radeon RX 550, or Adreno X1 GPU, DirectX 11, broadband internet, and 100 GB of available storage as minimums. Its recommended tier names an Intel Core i7-7700 or Snapdragon X2 Elite, 16 GB RAM, a GTX 1060 6 GB, RX 580 2304SP, Intel Arc A380, or Adreno X2 GPU, DirectX 12, and 100 GB storage. Steam marks an SSD as highly recommended.

There is a published storage discrepancy: Once Human's official FAQ still states 55 GB, whereas the current Steam listing says 100 GB. For an installation through Steam, reserve at least the store's 100 GB figure and extra room for updates; check the live official FAQ and store listing before downloading. These numbers are not interchangeable or a guarantee of final patch size. The official FAQ also names Windows 10 and 11 as supported and says Windows 7 is unsupported.

Install, account, and scenario planning

Use the official game site or Steam rather than a third-party installer. After installation, let the client update fully before troubleshooting. Once Human is a networked, scenario-based game; before starting with friends, compare the server and scenario shown in the client and confirm that everyone can connect to the intended one. The 2026 official console FAQ also says PC and console cross-play is supported, but this Windows setup guide does not assume every region or account has identical options.

For performance problems, record the scenario, location, resolution, graphics settings, driver, and whether the issue appears in combat or base activity. Change one setting at a time. The requirements are not a measured frame-rate guarantee; no hardware benchmark or optimal preset is claimed here.

What remains open
