Enlisted’s October update changes machine-gun handling and mission pacing

Gaijin’s “Making Enlisted a Better Place №75,” published October 22, adjusts machine guns, capture timing, reinforcement rules, and technical behavior. A follow-up on October 29 added three weapon corrections that the original post had missed.

The 75th “Making Enlisted a Better Place” post is a substantial balance and quality-of-life note, not just a list of isolated bug fixes. Gaijin says the changes respond in part to player feedback about machine guns that were awkward to use while prone or on a bipods. The update lets players hip-fire the Browning .303 and Browning 1919A4 while moving, at the cost of being restricted to a slow walk and accepting reduced accuracy. That tradeoff gives the weapons more mobility without presenting the new behavior as an accuracy buff.

Several weapon statistics also changed. The Type 99 light machine gun moved from Battle Rating III to II, and its sprint factor and aiming-speed multiplier increased. Gaijin raised sprint and aiming values for a group of British guns, including the Bren Mk I, Bren Mk II, Vickers-Berthier, and Besal event weapon. The Madsen and Browning M1919A6 also received handling adjustments; the latter’s base rate of fire rose from 500 to 550. These are weapon-specific balance changes, so the post’s complete list matters more than any broad claim that machine guns were simply “buffed.”

The same update revisits how three modes manage time and reinforcements. Conquest capture and neutralization take five seconds longer, while spawn points move closer to objectives on a named set of missions. Gaijin’s stated aim is to concentrate action around capture areas rather than lengthen matches. Assault received changes to capture times, reinforcement counts, and sector bonuses; the defending side now loses immediately when its reinforcements run out. In Confrontation, a team can no longer pause the countdown merely by keeping a player on the objective after exhausting its reinforcement pool.

The patch also addresses smaller friction points, including aircraft fuel selection, an incorrect P-39Q-5 role classification, vehicle model details, and a DirectX 12 shader-cache behavior that could prolong startup. For Linux and Steam Deck users, it lists a freeze fix involving the Steam overlay after restoring a minimized game.

There is one follow-up to include when reading the original post: Gaijin’s October 29 update 0.7.6.73 says three weapons left out of №75 were corrected afterward. It changes the PPSh-41 (S) deviation, M1 carbine grenade-launcher ammunition, and Captured MP 40 rate of fire. Those values belong to the later patch, not the October 22 announcement.
